Spring to Life |
Below the ground, in winter,
Life is still progressing.
Although plants look dead and gone
Their cycle is just recessing. |
The life force has not left them
It's just taking a well-earned rest,
Gathering rejuvenating strength
So in summer it will look its best. |
In winter we make summer plans -
What we'll do or where we'll go,
Some 'Snow Birds' head south for winter
In order to avoid the snow. |
For some, it's a hibernating time,
To find some good books to read,
Watch movies, sort out photographs,
Or fulfill some special need. |
We tend to stay inside more
As the daylight hours are short,
Staying close to family and friends,
It depends on what we were taught. |
Then as spring comes, once again,
And new life starts to show,
We plant new seeds, ideas, and plans
And wait for them to grow. |
Out with the old, in with the new,
It's time to do spring cleaning,
And no matter what our goals are
Spring gives life a whole new meaning.
